  • Choose The Best Sport For You

    17 May 2012

If you are looking to get fit and healthy but find the gym boring, you may want to look into taking up a sport. With a goal to each session you shouldn't ever get bored and will see the difference in your body quickly!

But you'll need to work out which sport is best for you before you commit to anything and this means really thinking about your personality and the options available to you. If you are a team player and want to enjoy the camaraderie of playing sport with friends, think about something like football, tennis or netball. These sports require you to work as a team and you can easily get an amateur team together with friends, or join a local team. Try to play a couple of times a week and you should soon find that you are healthier and happier than ever.

If you are looking for something that you can do with friends but is a little less high-impact, think about tennis or golf. These sports can still be played with friends and give you the opportunity to interact while you exercise, but don't require as much running around or coming into physical contact with people. You can get fit and healthy even if you have an injury which requires you to take it easy, or aren't yet at the peak of fitness.

For those who like to exercise alone, look into swimming as a great full-body workout which still has a goal as you take on as many laps as you can each time and try to build this up, but you can go alone and thus only need to fit it into your own schedule.

trying something completely different may be the key to keeping you interested in your sport for a long time so why not experiment with completely unique sports. Martial Arts and dance classes can be a great way to learn a new skill while getting healthy, and something like pole fitness can be a really exciting way to get fit and tone all of your muscle groups simultaneously.
